Fossils

Jayden was very proud of himself today. He did all of his school work by himself without any help. He even got 100% on his math quiz on T4L!

Caitlin was very proud of herself too. She learned how to write E's and the number 5. Then she wrote her name.

She made happy faces with orange foreheads

After tracing her name, she wrote it on top.
We worked on history with our Encyclopedia of World History. I love this book. Each page has a link that you can check online where it goes more in depth with different sites and articles.
Today we were talking about fossils. One of the pages we read sent us to an interactive website that allowed us to move a dead animal around (not as weird as it sounds!) so we could learn the best place for fossils to form.
The book also linked us to this website, where we followed the instructions on making our own fossil prints.
We all thought the end result looked gross
The kids flattened the "soft mud" and stuck their dinosaurs in it. I explained that the soft mud eventually turns into rock, and the remains form an imprint.

I'm not sure how much they understood, but they enjoyed it nonetheless!
