Today was another great day!
First we started off with our books. I had Jayden read me one of the library books we borrowed (not pictured). Then we did some of our usual stuff which included Reading comprehension, spelling, writing, a word jumble and math for Jayden while Cait worked on tracing numbers, shapes and her name.
Then we had a nice lunch at the park. For snack my kids had apple slices and carrots, yes CARROTS!! I can't believe they happily munched on them with peanut butter as a dip!
After lunch we whipped out our magnifying glass, reviewed the rules for the nature walk and with May leading us, we were on our way!
The kids gathered tons of leaves, pine cones and acorns for a project we will be doing later this week.
Look at that face! God forbid he gets dirty! LOL! My little boy was ready to turn around after awhile. He isn't into the nature walk scene, especially not with the promise of the playground once we were finished with our walk.
And my girl... forever asking if she can taste, smell or touch something, decided today would be a good day to bite an acorn. So I let her. Now I am a complete freak when it comes to stuff like that but I know she probably tried to bite it on the nature walk anyway. It's all about learning, right?
All of the kids had a lot of fun and were definitely work out but we let them tire themselves out more with the park.
Finally we came home and worked on another Thanksgiving craft- Pilgrim paper Bag Puppets!
With the help of the library book below, the kids learned about what Pilgrims wore, what they ate and what their homes looked like. They got to work coloring!
Meet their pilgrims, Sarah and Sam!
We added them to our wall, where they joined Squanto & Sacajawea.
Tomorrow we are looking forward to our Science class!
