First two games!

Last Thursday was Jayden's first game of the season. He looked SO adorable with his outfit on. Of course he outgrew his cleats, so we got him a new pair before his second game on Saturday.

Showing good sportsmanship by high five-ing the opposing team

The coaches are fantastic. They are really positive and encouraging. They keep the kids playing and help each kid with any problems they have in the game.

On Saturday was their second game.

That's Jayden back there, hitting the ball!

Here is Miss Drama, mad because she wanted a lollipop

Running back to the dugout after the game
Coach Steve promised the boys ice cream if they did well.

Sharing his slushie with his sister (who ended up getting her own ice cream!)
In both games he made it home twice! A few people have asked what position he plays. Right now, each child rotates every position except pitcher (the coaches pitch to their own team).

Another day down!

We started off with our World History encyclopedia and went a little more in depth on fossils.

We discussed how the clues from fossils allow paleontologists to learn about the past.
We watched a video (linked from the Usborne Encyclopedia) about tons of fossils found in Madagascar.
We also played a game, putting in sequence pictures of a dinosaurs death all the way until his fossils are discovered.
Jayden is almost done with his pattern chapter in math.
Cait practiced writing the number 5 again.

When she was done she decided to write in her notebook. She wrote lots of w's, c's, 8s and 3s.
Here is one of her 3s.
Jayden worked on his spelling and grammar.

I was recently contemplating how to include some calendar work. I also wanted to chart the weather changes so that we can keep track of the temperature as the summer slips into fall. I struck gold when I checked one of my favorite homeschooling websites and found that Erica at Confessions of a Homeschooler just created two FREE printable notebooks (one for Preschoolers here, and one for older grades here). It has everything I was looking for and more. I am going to print them off and include them in our daily work.

Happy schooling! :)

Little League!

I can't believe my boy is old enough to be on a Little League team. He is in the double a division. He is playing for the Orioles this season.

His first practice was last Thursday.

Practicing pitching

On Saturday he had another practice.

What else could she be but crabby?!

My son has to wear a cup for baseball this season. I'm not sure how I feel about that! He is getting too big!
