Ambulance Tour

Last week we went on a field trip to take a tour of an ambulance. This was set up by Patrick and Carolyn.

We haven't seen Olivia and Owen in over a week or more so the kids were happy to see each other.

 The kids all got to try on neck braces and arm casts.

 They saw stretchers and the lounge where the paramedics hung out.

 Then they got to try the seat lift and go inside of the ambulance.

 Cait was still sick and crabby so she went to the car toward the end and played Angry Birds

School days

This is pretty much what our school week looked like every day last week. Math, spelling, grammar, reading, reading, and more reading!

Cait grabbed a ruler and started measuring random toys in the house.

Digestive System

Last Tuesday we had a science co-op. This co-op is focusing on the human body right now. On this day we did a unit on the digestive system. While waiting for everyone to arrive, the kids played a bit.

They have some pretty cool puzzles by Melissa & Doug- This human body puzzle and the solar system, both of which we will probably get for Christmas.

 

 

 Once everyone arrived, the children sat at the table while Rachel read several books about digestion.

 

Then the kids worked on a project. First they mushed up crackers.

 

  

 Then Rachel added orange juice which represented the digestive juices.

 Then they mushed it up some more.

 Everyone held their bag to the light to see what the food looked like mixed with digestive juices.

   

 Then the kids colored cutouts and made their digestive system on a paper bag.

(She was sick!)
