Hello April!

Time seems to be flying by! We are so busy every day doing something. On days we aren't doing anything outside, we seem to be busy inside!

Here is how our last week went:

We started our week off at the indoor playground.

Jayden tells me "Mom, I want pizza. And can you pick up a slice for her too?"
Cait was ecstatic to pretend she was a baby and have a group of girls take care of her

 Swimming went well as usual!
We went to the Museum of Science where we studied with other homeschooled children. We learned a lot about the Earth.

We sat in the Planetarium for a 45 minute show.
We made volcanos with baking soda and vinegar. We marked the "explosions" with a pencil and smashed play doh wherever the explosion touched.

We explored the museum a little bit.
 They drove a rocket.

 They looked out into space.

We walked around and read some facts about the Earth.

We told them to smile nicely and of course they didn't.
On Friday we had a co-op class at our library. This is a different co-op from the other one. It is much smaller, and it is focused on a more classical style of homeschooling, such as lessons, worksheets, etc.

While we waited the children played.

We kicked off the class with a box from the library about the world. We took out flags and the children had to use the pages at the end of the dictionary to identify what country they are from.

Then we used the globe to find where that country was located and how far it was from the United States.
We did a worksheet to kick off map skills.

While Cait drew on a magnadoodle,
the other children played with the tag map of the different continents.

Then they made model Earths out of play doh. The earth had different layers (each layer a different color). At the end we split the earth in half to show the children that the earth is filled in the center and not just empty like the globe. We learned what the different layers were called and what they were made of.

Then we learned about the earth spinning and how the sun (Olivia) and the moon (Jayden) don't move, creating day and night for different parts of the world.

When we were done the children worked on a puzzle of the United States.

We met up at Carolyns house to dye eggs. Jayden even let loose and got messy!

They all sat together to make little egg crafts.

Carolyn let them touch their bearded dragon.

 Trampoline fun!
Egg hunt! Carolyn filled and hid chocolate filled eggs and they went on a hunt to gather them.

And today was little Hayzels birthday party. It was a swimming party. Jayden showed off his new swimming skills sans floats! He did have to stay in the shallow end though.

So there was our week in just over 100 pictures!

And here are Jaydens grades for the week:

Next week will mark our one year anniversary of moving from NY. We also have a movie date, swimming, our large co-op and we are going to see a musical! Soccer starts next Sunday!
